Posted on May 24, 2025 by Usainsightreport

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 24-year-old man, Ethan Libby, in connection with an investigation into alleged sexual abuse of minors. The arrest was made following a collaborative effort between the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Libby is currently being held at the Fresno County Jail.

The investigation began after authorities received a cyber tip on Friday afternoon, which prompted detectives to act swiftly. Their efforts led them to the Bridgewood Crossing apartment complex, where they made contact with Libby. According to officials, during the course of the initial investigation, detectives developed credible information suggesting that Libby had sexually assaulted two minors.

In conjunction with the arrest, law enforcement officials seized Libby’s electronic devices for forensic analysis. These devices will be thoroughly examined for any digital evidence that could further substantiate the allegations or reveal additional victims. The ICAC Task Force, which is dedicated to identifying and prosecuting individuals involved in the exploitation of children online, is leading the digital investigation alongside HSI.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with further information related to this case to come forward. Those who may have had contact with Libby or possess relevant details are encouraged to contact HSI Special Agent Monique Jacques at 559-351-1019. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously through Valley Crime Stoppers by calling 559-498-7867.

The case underscores the vital role that cyber crime tips and community reporting play in the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable children from sexual exploitation. The Sheriff’s Office and its federal partners remain committed to pursuing justice for victims and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.

As the investigation unfolds, further updates will be provided by law enforcement. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized that the protection of children is a top priority and has assured the public that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure a thorough and just process.
