Posted on July 23, 2025 by Usainsightreport

CHURCH HILL, MD — A devastating two-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025, has left a Greensboro woman dead and two others seriously injured. The Maryland State Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the crash, which occurred around 9:10 a.m. on southbound U.S. Route 301 at its intersection with Price Station Road (State Route 405) in Queen Anne’s County.

The incident involved a Kia passenger vehicle and a Mazda. The driver of the Kia, identified as 58-year-old Mickie Mowbray of Greensboro, Maryland, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services personnel. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

According to preliminary findings from the Maryland State Police, the Mazda was traveling south on U.S. Route 301 when it collided with the driver’s side of the Kia, which was attempting to cross the highway. The impact caused the Kia to overturn, resulting in catastrophic consequences. Authorities have indicated that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash, though the investigation is ongoing to determine the precise circumstances.

The Mazda was occupied by a 22-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old female passenger, both of whom sustained critical injuries. They were airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for emergency medical treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation, with support from troopers at the Centreville Barrack. Once completed, the findings will be submitted to the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office for review to determine if any charges will be filed. The crash led to the closure of southbound U.S. Route 301 for approximately three hours, with traffic resuming around 12:40 p.m. on July 22, 2025. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures and detours during the response.

The Maryland State Police are appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone who witnessed the crash or possesses relevant information, such as dashcam footage, to contact the Centreville Barrack at 410-758-1101. The investigation remains active, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.

The loss of Mickie Mowbray has sent shockwaves through her Greensboro community, where she is remembered as a compassionate and cherished individual. Friends, family, and community members are also offering prayers and support for the two injured individuals as they continue their recovery.

This tragic incident underscores the critical need for vigilance and caution on high-traffic roadways like U.S. Route 301, particularly at intersections. As the community mourns, authorities continue to emphasize the importance of road safety to prevent future tragedies.

Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones of Mickie Mowbray, and we extend our thoughts to those recovering from their injuries. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
