Honoring Braxton Jarmon: A Beloved Grizzly Gone Too Soon

Posted on July 8, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Our hearts are broken as we share the devastating news of the passing of Braxton Jarmon, a cherished member of the Glenn High School community in Leander, Texas. Braxton, an incoming sophomore and a proud member of the Glenn High School Band, tragically lost his life during the recent catastrophic flooding that swept through Central Texas.

This unimaginable loss has sent shockwaves through the Grizzly family. Braxton was more than just a student—he was a vibrant spirit, a dedicated musician, a kind soul, and a friend to many. His presence was a gift to the band and to the campus at large. He had a smile that lit up a room and a heart that embraced others with warmth and compassion. As we mourn his passing, we remember the joy and energy he brought to every rehearsal, game, and school day.

Even more heartbreaking is the continued uncertainty surrounding his loved ones. Braxton’s sister, Felicity, also a Glenn High School student, and his stepmother remain missing in the wake of the floodwaters. The Jarmon family is facing an unspeakable tragedy, and the grief is beyond what words can express. Our thoughts and deepest prayers are with Braxton’s father, his extended family, and every friend impacted by this heartbreaking situation.

To lose a student so young and full of promise is a sorrow no community should have to bear. But in true Grizzly spirit, we know how to come together in times of pain. We lift one another up. We hold space for grief. We offer support, strength, and solidarity.

How to Help the Jarmon Family

In the wake of this tragedy, the Glenn Grizzly Band has united with the Glenn Grizzly Football Booster Club to support Braxton’s father through the difficult days ahead. Together, they have created a donation page to help cover funeral expenses and immediate family needs.

We encourage everyone who is able to consider donating:

Every dollar raised goes directly to Braxton’s family, offering tangible relief and a powerful message of community love and support.

Support for Students

Grief does not end with the announcement—it lingers in the halls, in our conversations, and in the quiet moments when we remember. To help our students process this enormous loss, counselors and social workers will be available at Glenn High School on Tuesday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Students can check in at the front office and will be guided to the library, where a supportive, compassionate team will be ready to listen and help.

As we honor the memory of Braxton Jarmon, let us also remember the importance of community—of holding each other close, of reaching out, of showing up when it matters most.

To Braxton: your music, your kindness, your laughter, and your light will never be forgotten. You will always be a Grizzly.

To the Jarmon family: we see you, we mourn with you, and we are here for you.

Rest peacefully, Braxton. You were deeply loved. You are deeply missed.
