Huntsville Man, 29, Dies in Tragic Tesla Crash and Fire in Walker County

Authorities have identified a Huntsville man who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash in Walker County.

Alabama State Troopers confirmed the victim as Joshua K. Leblanc, aged 29, of Huntsville.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, on Hill Road near Drummond Switch Cut Off Road, roughly two miles south of Empire in Walker County.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble reported that Leblanc was driving a 2021 Tesla Model 3 when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a guardrail, collided with several trees, and subsequently caught fire.

Leblanc was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where his identity was officially confirmed.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details are available at this time.
