Posted on May 29, 2025 by Usainsightreport

The Sit Means Sit Metro Detroit family is heartbroken to share the unexpected and deeply saddening news of the passing of Caty Gittner, a cherished team member, loving mother, and friend to many. Caty was more than a colleague—she was a radiant presence who brought light, laughter, and warmth into every space she entered. Her loss is profoundly felt across the entire community.

Those fortunate enough to meet Caty will never forget her. She was known for her unwavering kindness, her ability to put others at ease, and a boundless enthusiasm for life that touched everyone she encountered. Whether she was helping guide a nervous dog owner during group classes or offering words of encouragement to a fellow trainer, Caty’s impact was always positive and lasting.

She had a deep love for animals, which was evident in every interaction. Caty often spoke of her dream to one day retire from her career in teaching to pursue a full-time role as a trainer with Sit Means Sit. With her endless patience, compassionate nature, and dedication, there is no doubt she would have excelled in that role and touched even more lives through it.

Caty leaves behind a loving husband, two beautiful daughters, and an immeasurable number of friends, colleagues, and community members whose lives were made better by knowing her. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her memory continues to inspire and comfort those she held dear.

In the wake of this devastating loss, the Sit Means Sit community is rallying to honor Caty’s legacy and support the Gittner family during this incredibly difficult time. For those seeking to help or share their condolences, several ways to contribute have been made available.

Caty will be remembered for the way she made people feel—valued, seen, and supported. Her gentle strength, vibrant laughter, and unwavering optimism made her not only a joy to work with but also a role model and friend to all.

In these moments of sorrow, we reflect on the love she gave so freely and the community she helped build. Let us honor Caty by continuing to share that kindness with others, by supporting her family, and by holding on to the countless memories she gave us.

Rest in peace, Caty. Your spirit lives on in every life you touched.
