In Loving Memory of David William Coombs ,1961 – 2025

Posted on July 7, 2025 by Usainsightreport

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David William Coombs, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away on July 5, 2025, at the Renmark Hospital. David was 63 years old.

Born in 1961, David was the cherished son of the late John and Betty Coombs, and a treasured brother to Dianne, Lynne (and Roger), Michael, and Andrew. His passing marks the end of a brave journey through illness, but it also opens the door to a heartfelt remembrance of a man who was fiercely loved, deeply respected, and profoundly missed.

David endured a long and difficult eight months with remarkable strength and resilience. Though not one for “mushy stuff,” as his sister Dianne lovingly noted, he was deeply appreciated by his family for the quiet dignity with which he carried himself and the love he radiated through his actions more than his words.

A Family’s Tribute

From Dianne:

“My dear brother, I’m heartbroken. You endured so much these last eight months. I know you didn’t like ‘mushy stuff’ Dave, but I love you darling and you will be in my heart always. Your bossy old sister—I’ll miss you.”

David was also a much-loved brother-in-law to the late Bernie, and a devoted uncle to Darren (dec), Mark (dec), and Maz, and great-uncle to Cooper and Mahli.

From Lynne & Roger:

“To our devoted brother and brother-in-law, you were a constant source of strength and warmth. Cherished uncle to Kylie, Jason, and Cherie, and great-uncle to Kaelen, Nate, Cohen, Riley, and Charlotte. You are now resting peacefully, forever in our hearts.”

Throughout his life, David was known for his quiet, steadfast nature and unwavering love for his family. Whether it was in shared laughter, long conversations, or the comfort of simply being there, David brought people together. He faced life with quiet courage and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Final Farewell

Family and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate David’s life at a funeral service to be held:

Riverland Funeral Chapel

231 Twentyfirst Street, Renmark

🕚 Monday, July 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM

The service will be followed by a private cremation at Riverland Crematorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Leukemia Foundation in David’s memory. Contributions can be made at the service and will go toward helping others fight the same courageous battle David endured.

Though David is no longer with us in body, his memory will remain vivid in the hearts of those who loved him. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Mum and Dad, finally free of pain, and at peace.

“Beautiful memories are all we have left of one we loved and will never forget.”

Rest easy, Dave. You will always be remembered.
