In Loving Memory of Greg Johnson ,Sunset: June 28, 2025

Posted on July 1, 2025 by Usainsightreport

It is with shattered hearts and immense sorrow that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Greg Johnson, lovingly known as “Pop Pop,” on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. His departure was unexpected, and as his loved ones continue to process this profound loss, they ask for prayers, support, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time.

Greg was a beacon of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. To his grandchildren, he was not just a grandfather—he was the grandfather—their one and only Pop Pop. A constant presence, a warm hug, and a joyful spirit, Greg poured his heart into his role as grandfather, husband, father, and friend. His absence leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of all who loved him.

At the heart of his world was his beloved wife, with whom he shared nearly 24 years of love, partnership, and unforgettable memories. The two were set to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 29th—a milestone now marked with heartbreak instead of celebration. Please lift up his precious wife in your prayers, as she faces this tremendous grief with the strength and grace that Greg always admired in her.

Though the family awaits further details about Greg’s sudden passing, they take solace in knowing that his final days were full of life. Just a week before his passing, Greg proudly achieved a milestone at his Pilates studio, joining the “250 Club”—a testament to his commitment to health and vitality. The last photo shared of him captures that very spirit: happy, strong, and doing what he loved, surrounded by people who adored him.

Greg’s life will be honored on Saturday, July 12, in New Orleans at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.

  • Visitation: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Funeral Mass: To follow immediately after visitation

A separate memorial service will be arranged for friends and family in Shreveport at a later date, allowing all who were touched by his life to gather, reflect, and remember the man who brought so much joy and warmth into this world.

To all the dear friends and family who have reached out—thank you. Your kind words, prayers, and support are holding this family up during these darkest hours. The love you have shown reminds us just how deeply Greg was loved by so many.

Though his time on Earth ended far too soon, Greg Johnson’s legacy lives on in every laugh, every hug, every family story, and every cherished moment. He leaves behind a trail of memories filled with love, light, and laughter. And while he may no longer be with us physically, Pop Pop’s spirit will forever echo in the lives of those who knew him best.

Rest peacefully, Greg. You were deeply loved—and always will be.
