The community of Rayville, Louisiana, is grieving the unexpected passing of Joshua Reese Boies, who left this world far too soon on June 30, 2025, at the age of 43. A native son of Louisiana, Joshua was born on February 15, 1982, in West Monroe, and lived a life full of heart, resilience, and deep devotion to those he loved.
Joshua was a man whose presence could light up any room. With an easy smile, a generous spirit, and a sharp sense of humor, he drew people in and left a lasting impression. Those who knew him best describe him as someone who could make you laugh on your worst days, lend a hand without needing to be asked, and offer wisdom earned through both joy and hardship.
He is survived by a family who adored him beyond measure. His children — Hannah Grace Cook, Owen Reese Rimes, and William “Coop” CooperBeckhom Boies — were his pride and joy, the very center of his world. Joshua’s legacy lives on through them, in their laughter, their dreams, and the many life lessons he passed on. He was not just a father, but a guiding force and constant source of support and unconditional love.
Joshua is also survived by his devoted parents, William Glen and Lilia Boies, who nurtured and stood beside him every step of his journey. Their love and strength were the foundation upon which Joshua built his own life, and their grief is shared by all who knew the depth of their bond.
Above all, Joshua’s heart belonged to Sandra Lynn Blackmon, the love of his life. Their connection was deep and undeniable — a testament to true partnership, devotion, and enduring affection. Together, they built a life of shared memories, laughter, and unwavering support, facing life’s challenges hand in hand.
A man of faith and quiet conviction, Joshua was deeply rooted in his community. Whether offering encouragement to a friend in need or stepping up for his neighbors, he never hesitated to be there for others. His presence in Rayville and the surrounding community was marked by kindness, humility, and strength of character.
A visitation will be held in his memory at Mangham Baptist Church in Mangham, Louisiana, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by memorial services at 10:30 AM. Loved ones and community members are invited to come together to honor a life that meant so much to so many.
Though the sudden nature of his passing has left an ache that words cannot mend, the legacy of Joshua Reese Boies endures — in the family he loved fiercely, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives he touched through simple, steadfast kindness. He will be remembered not just for what he did, but for who he was: a loving father, a cherished son, a devoted partner, and a good man in every sense of the word.
In times of sorrow, we cling to the memories that bring comfort and the faith that love never truly dies. Joshua’s journey may have ended too soon, but the mark he left on this world is indelible.
He will be missed dearly.
He will be remembered always.
And he will be loved forever.
