April 22, 1997 – March 30, 2025
Portland, Oregon
With profound sadness and deep love, we say goodbye to Kaleb Ryan Rethwisch, who passed away far too soon on March 30, 2025, at the age of 27. Kaleb’s life, though short in years, was rich in spirit, kindness, and connection. He was a bright light to those who knew him—a compassionate soul whose genuine smile and infectious laughter could lift any room.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Kaleb brought energy and warmth to everyone he encountered. He had a natural curiosity and a strong sense of empathy, always quick to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. From a young age, he exhibited a depth of character and a fierce loyalty to his family and friends. Whether it was a quiet conversation over coffee or a spontaneous adventure, Kaleb lived with sincerity and purpose.
Kaleb was deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his devoted parents, his beloved sister, and an extended family who cherished him dearly. They remember him as a source of joy and strength, someone who could always be counted on. His kindness was not performative—it was simply who he was. He lived with authenticity and gave love without reservation.
Those who knew Kaleb will remember his passion for music, his love of the outdoors, and his deep connection to his community. He had an artist’s soul, often lost in thought or moved by beauty in everyday moments. He was a thinker and a dreamer, yet deeply grounded in his values and in his love for those around him.
In honor of Kaleb’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held on May 15, 2025, at the Apostolic Faith Church in Portland. It will be a time to gather, reflect, and celebrate the beautiful life he lived. The Rethwisch family welcomes all who knew Kaleb to join them in remembering the joy he brought into the world.
During this time of unimaginable grief, we ask that you keep the Rethwisch family in your thoughts and prayers. May the memories of Kaleb’s love, laughter, and spirit provide comfort in the days ahead.
Though he is no longer with us, Kaleb Ryan Rethwisch will never be forgotten. His light continues to shine in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace, surrounded by eternal love.
