It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Portia Sales, who departed this life far too soon on February 10, 2025, at the tender age of 37. Portia was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her—a woman of strength, warmth, and grace whose vibrant energy and boundless compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama, Portia was deeply rooted in her community. She carried the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity in everything she did. Whether she was lending a helping hand, offering a kind word, or simply sharing her radiant smile, Portia had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her.
A beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Portia’s life was one defined by love—love for her family, her friends, and her faith. Her unwavering devotion to those she held dear was evident in every aspect of her life. She was someone you could count on—steadfast in her loyalty, gentle in her spirit, and fierce in her love.
Portia had a joyful presence that filled any room she entered. She found happiness in the simple things—whether it was spending time with loved ones, listening to music, or cooking a favorite meal. She cherished laughter and connection, and her sense of humor brought comfort and joy even during life’s most difficult moments.
Although her time with us was tragically short, the legacy she leaves behind is profound. Portia taught us the importance of cherishing every moment, loving without hesitation, and living life with passion and purpose. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught, and the love that continues to surround us because of her.
As we gather to celebrate Portia’s remarkable life, we invite family, friends, and members of the community to join us in honoring her memory. A memorial service will be held on May 30, 2025, at the C. T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects to a woman who touched so many hearts.
Though words can never fully capture the loss we feel, we take comfort in knowing that Portia’s spirit lives on—in our hearts, in our memories, and in the love she so freely gave. She may be gone from our sight, but never from our lives.
