Posted on July 10, 2025 by Usainsightreport

With deep sadness, the family of Robert “Bob” L. Waller Sr., age 68, of Oxford (Deep Lake), announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. Bob was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a cherished brother, and a friend to many. His absence leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of love, perseverance, and dedication will remain forever.

Bob was born on December 19, 1956, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Albert and Edna (Miller) Waller. He grew up in Duke, Oklahoma, and graduated from Duke High School in 1974. From a young age, Bob had a passion for understanding how things worked—especially anything with a motor—and he pursued that passion by becoming a skilled diesel mechanic, a trade he would master and carry throughout his life.

In the early 1990s, Bob made the journey north to Wisconsin, following family and new opportunities. He worked for many years as a respected mechanic at Peterson Produce, where his work ethic and know-how quickly earned the trust of coworkers and friends alike. His hands were rarely still—always fixing, building, or lending help where needed. He could truly fix just about anything.

On June 30, 2001, Bob married the love of his life, Susan Gorr, in Montello, Wisconsin. A short time later, they made their home near Deep Lake, where they built a life rooted in quiet companionship, shared joy, and enduring love. Whether it was a weekend of camping or an afternoon by the water with a fishing rod in hand, Bob embraced life’s simple pleasures and found happiness in nature, family, and hard work.

In recent years, Bob was employed as a maintenance technician at the Wisconsin Dells Walmart, where his attention to detail and calm demeanor made him a valued member of the team. He was a man of few words but great dependability, always willing to help with a task or solve a problem without needing praise.

Bob will be remembered for many things—his gentle strength, his loyalty, and his deep love for his family. He was a good husband, a loving father, and a devoted grandfather. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the values he instilled.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Susan, and his children:

  • Rebecca (Jon) Waller of Juneau
  • Robert Jr. of New Lisbon

He was a proud grandfather to Morgan (Justin), Michael (Kaitie), Jordan (Carmen), Mariah, and Maicol. He is also survived by two brothers, Albert and Grady (Joyce), and a large extended family including brothers- and sisters-in-law: Cindy Gorr, Butch (Dawn) Gorr, Jeanette Gorr, Steve Bennett, Todd (Debbie) Gorr, and Jenifer (Andy) Linendoll, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Waller; his in-laws, Jerry and Donna Gorr; his brother Billy; brother-in-law Brian Gorr; sister-in-law Beth Bennett; nephew Troy Gorr; and his infant great-nephew Jacob.

To celebrate Bob’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held on:
Saturday, August 2, 2025
12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Oxford Pub N Grub, 848 E. Ormsby Street, Oxford, Wisconsin

Bob’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Autumn from My Choice, St. Croix Hospice, and The Wisconsin Rapids Cancer Center for the compassion, care, and kindness shown throughout Bob’s final journey.

Though Bob has left this world, the love he gave and the life he lived will echo for generations. We will miss his steady presence, his quiet wisdom, and the way he showed up for the people he loved.

Rest in peace, Bob. Your work here is done, and your memory will live on in every life you’ve touched. 🕊️
