In Loving Memory of Sherry A. Brownell
Rochester, New York
March 15, 1999 – June 7, 2025

The community of Rochester, New York, mourns the heartbreaking loss of Sherry A. Brownell, who passed away far too soon on June 7, 2025, at just 26 years old. Sherry’s sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her boundless compassion, and the light she brought into the lives of others.

Born on March 15, 1999, to Stephanie and Daniel Brownell, Sherry grew up in Rochester where she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. A deeply empathetic soul, she was known for her gentle demeanor, her easy laugh, and a kindness that left lasting impressions on those around her. Whether in a crowded room or a quiet conversation, Sherry made people feel seen and valued.

From a young age, Sherry was a curious and creative spirit. She loved to read, write, and express herself through music and art. Her talent and authenticity drew others to her. After graduating from high school, she pursued higher education and personal growth, always striving to find purpose and meaning in everything she did. She had an intuitive way of knowing when someone needed a listening ear, and she gave of herself freely—without expectation, only love.

Sherry’s journey through life was not without struggle, but she faced each challenge with dignity and perseverance. Those who knew her best admired her resilience and the depth of her soul. Her smile had a way of easing worry, and her words often brought comfort in moments of despair.

She is survived by her devoted parents, Stephanie and Daniel Brownell, her siblings—each of whom she loved deeply and supported without condition—and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and close friends who cherished her presence. The family would also like to recognize the many individuals who walked alongside Sherry in her life, offering her encouragement and love.

Though her time with us was tragically brief, the impact Sherry made endures. Her memory will live on in the laughter of her loved ones, in the comfort of shared stories, and in the quiet strength that comes from love never lost. As we grieve her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the legacy of warmth, empathy, and hope she leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can come together to honor Sherry’s life and say goodbye in the way she would have wanted—with grace, remembrance, and love.

In the stillness of remembrance, may we all carry Sherry’s light forward. Let us live more kindly, love more openly, and hold each other a little closer.

Rest in peace, dear Sherry. May your soul find serenity in the arms of eternity.
