Jackson Police Investigating Shooting Involving David Lee Cole II

Jackson, TN – July 1, 2025 — The Jackson Police Department is actively investigating an early morning shooting that left one man hospitalized and has identified 25-year-old David Lee Cole II as the suspect in the case.

At approximately 4:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to 2239 Hollywood Drive after receiving reports of a shooting. A male victim later arrived at a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Due to the extent of his injuries, he was transferred to a hospital in Memphis, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators quickly began working the case and identified David Lee Cole II as the individual suspected of carrying out the shooting. Later in the day, at around 3:30 p.m., members of the Jackson Police SWAT Team and investigators executed a search warrant at Cole’s residence in the 400 block of Greenwood Avenue. However, Cole was not located during the operation and is currently not in custody.

The Jackson Police Department is now seeking the public’s assistance in locating David Lee Cole II, who is wanted in connection with the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS (8477).

All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous, and individuals who provide helpful tips may be eligible for a cash reward.

This is an ongoing investigation, and the Jackson Police Department will release additional details as they become available.
