KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) — A violent shooting early Saturday morning in Kansas City has prompted a homicide investigation, with police still working to determine what led up to the incident.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), officers were called to the area of E. 24th Street and Lister Avenue at approximately 2:10 a.m. on June 28 following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located three adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were transported for treatment and are now reported to be in stable condition.

Though the incident was initially described as deadly, authorities have since clarified that there were no fatalities. However, the case is still being investigated as a potential homicide, and police say no suspects are currently in custody.

Detectives remained at the scene throughout the early morning hours collecting evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses or surveillance footage that may offer clues. At this time, the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unknown.

Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have seen or heard anything to come forward. Information can be shared directly with KCPD homicide detectives at 816-234-5043 or anonymously through the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information submitted anonymously that leads to an arrest.

The shooting has once again raised concerns among local residents about gun violence in the area. Community members are calling for increased safety measures and continued efforts to address the root causes of these recurring incidents.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are committed to following every lead to bring those responsible to justice.
