LANCASTER, CA — The Lancaster community is mourning the loss of a young man whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating motorcycle collision on Friday night. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially identified the deceased as 22-year-old Ryan Churgin, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a violent crash at the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue G in Lancaster, California.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The tragic incident unfolded on the evening of June 6, 2025, just after 9:14 p.m., when deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency responders were met with a harrowing scene. A mangled motorcycle was found lodged beneath the rear of a white Saturn sedan, and the motorcycle rider, later identified as Churgin, was lying a few feet away from the point of impact, unresponsive and critically injured.
Paramedics immediately initiated life-saving measures and rushed Churgin to Antelope Valley Medical Center. Despite their efforts, the young man was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival due to the extent of his injuries.
Eyewitness Accounts and Preliminary Investigation
According to an unconfirmed witness statement gathered at the scene, the white Saturn was traveling westbound on Avenue G, attempting to cross the intersection at 30th Street West. At the same time, Ryan Churgin, on his motorcycle, was reportedly traveling southbound on 30th Street West.
The witness alleged that Churgin may have failed to stop at a posted stop sign, colliding with the right side of the Saturn sedan. The force of the impact was so intense that the motorcycle became entangled with the car, and the combined vehicles were dragged nearly 100 feet from the initial point of impact.
Authorities have yet to confirm the precise speed Churgin was traveling at the time of the crash. The driver of the Saturn, whose identity has not been released, remained at the scene and was reported to be visibly distraught. There was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision, though the investigation is ongoing.
