Man Fatally Stabbed in Albany Altercation, Police Seek Answers

ALBANY, GA — The Albany Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning, July 25, 2025, in the 1000 block of E. Tift Avenue, resulting in the death of 33-year-old Darius Jackson.

According to authorities, police responded to reports of a violent altercation at approximately 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jackson suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders provided immediate medical attention and transported him to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Albany Police Department has not released information regarding a suspect or the circumstances leading to the stabbing. The scene was secured for several hours as investigators collected evidence and interviewed potential witnesses in the area.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” said a spokesperson for the Albany Police Department. “We are committed to uncovering the facts of this tragic event and bringing those responsible to justice.”
