LAKEWOOD, WA — A peaceful evening at Harry Todd Park turned into chaos on May 28, 2025, when gunfire erupted, leaving seven individuals injured and the community in shock. Lakewood Police Officer Charles Porche described the scene as “chaotic,” noting that families were screaming and attempting to flee the area. “It’s been a gorgeous time for people to get out and enjoy the park, the lake, and then you have something like this that happens,” Porche said.

Authorities are investigating whether the shooting was a targeted attack. No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large. Police have not disclosed how the suspects fled the scene, whether by vehicle or on foot. Despite the severity of the incident, officials do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
