MILLSBORO, DELAWARE — Victim Identified in Fatal Shooting on Rivers Edge Drive, Suspect Charged with Murder

MILLSBORO, DELAWARE — A sense of sorrow and disbelief has gripped the communities of Millsboro and Ellendale following a tragic and deadly shooting that unfolded in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has confirmed the arrest of 25-year-old Marcus Harris, who now faces charges of murder and related offenses after a violent incident that left one young man dead and two others wounded.

What Happened
At approximately 2:00 a.m., state troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive in Millsboro after receiving a report of a shooting in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers were met with a chaotic and heartbreaking sight—three men had been shot and were lying outside the residence.

Emergency responders worked swiftly, but 19-year-old Andree’ Mosley Jr., of Ellendale, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims, whose identities have not yet been publicly released, were rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities report that both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

🕵️ Arrest Made at the Scene
During the initial response, troopers determined that the suspected shooter, Marcus Harris, was still inside the home. Officers entered the residence and were able to take Harris into custody without incident. He was transported to a local holding facility, and after preliminary investigation and questioning, he was charged with:

Murder in the First Degree
Attempted Murder
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
Reckless Endangering
Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Harris remains in custody and is being held without bond at Sussex Correctional Institution. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this month.

Remembering Andree’ Mosley Jr.
The death of Andree’ Mosley Jr. has left his family, friends, and community in deep mourning. A 2023 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, Mosley was described as a bright, spirited, and kind-hearted young man who had dreams of working in automotive mechanics. He was known for his infectious smile, deep loyalty to his loved ones, and his passion for music and cars.

“Andree’ was someone who lit up every room he walked into,” said a family member. “He was just beginning to step into adulthood, full of hope and potential. This has shattered us.”

Vigils have already begun forming in Ellendale and at the Rivers Edge community where the shooting took place. Friends have been sharing tributes on social media using the hashtag #JusticeForAndree and calling for peace and accountability.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive for the shooting, and detectives are continuing to investigate the chain of events that led up to the deadly confrontation. It remains unclear what relationship, if any, existed between Harris and the victims.

The Delaware State Police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Tips can be shared confidentially by contacting the Homicide Unit at (302) 741-2730, or through the Delaware Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-TIP-3333 or online at delawarecrimestoppers.org.

A Community Demands Justice
The tragedy has reignited discussions in Delaware about youth violence, gun access, and mental health resources. Local leaders are calling for calm, compassion, and stronger community engagement to prevent further bloodshed.

State Representative Carla Williams of Sussex County released a statement, saying:

“This was a senseless act of violence that cut short a young man’s life and forever altered many others. We must not allow these tragedies to become normal. We need real solutions to address the underlying issues that lead to this kind of violence.”
Final Thoughts
As the investigation continues and legal proceedings begin, one thing remains painfully clear—another life was stolen far too soon, and countless others are now left to grieve, ask questions, and somehow pick up the pieces.

Rest in peace, Andree’ Mosley Jr. Your life mattered. Your memory will not be forgotten.
