The attack occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, shortly after 7 p.m. at a residence on Forest Avenue near Menahan Street in Ridgewood. Responding to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress, police arrived to find both Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita and Analiz Cruz suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. Emergency medical services rushed the victims to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
A 54-year-old man, identified by police as the suspect, was also found at the scene with stab wounds to his chest.
