According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, slick road conditions caused Joseph to lose control of his 2000 Ford Ranger, cross into the opposite lane and collide head-on with a southbound 2024 Toyota Camry driven by 24-year-old Robert Vinegar of Louisville. After that impact, another vehicle struck the Camry.
Joseph was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Robert suffered life-threatening injuries and remains under medical care. The sheriff’s office reconstruction unit confirmed that the weather- and road-condition-related factors played a major role in this fatal collision.
