Ocoee Police Open Fire After Driver Allegedly Rams Officers with Stolen Vehicle; Suspect Dies

OCOEE, Fla. — A routine police follow-up on a stolen vehicle report turned deadly Sunday morning when a woman allegedly drove the stolen car toward two Ocoee police officers, prompting one of them to open fire. The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Stacie Lynn Guerrero, later died from her injuries.

Around 11:30 a.m. on August 10, officers from the Ocoee Police Department were investigating a stolen vehicle report near 301 West Road. The vehicle in question was spotted in the parking lot of a Publix supermarket at the intersection of West Road and Ocoee Apopka Road.

As the officers approached the vehicle, Guerrero reportedly accelerated toward them, striking both officers in the process. In response to the immediate threat, one officer discharged their firearm, hitting Guerrero.

Guerrero was rushed to AdventHealth hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries later that day. Authorities confirmed that neither officer sustained serious injuries.
