Posted on May 10, 2025 by Usainsightreport

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic incident involving the discovery of a deceased individual in Henry County, Tennessee. In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding the possible presence of a body in the parking area of Gin Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA), located off Copper Springs Road.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies confirmed the presence of a deceased female individual in the parking lot. Responding officers secured the area and immediately began preliminary investigative procedures to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

In accordance with protocol, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office were promptly notified and have joined the investigation. These agencies are working in coordination with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office to ensure a thorough and methodical investigation.

At this time, the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. Out of respect for the family and to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation, further details regarding the victim and potential cause of death are being withheld.

Sheriff Josh Frey emphasized that, based on the information currently available, this appears to be an isolated incident. There is no indication of an ongoing threat to public safety, and the Sheriff’s Office wants to reassure residents that law enforcement is diligently working to uncover all relevant facts.

“We understand the community’s concern and are committed to full transparency as this case unfolds,” Sheriff Frey stated. “We are actively investigating all leads, and we encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been in the area of Gin Creek WMA on the evening of Friday, May 9, or the early morning hours of Saturday, May 10, to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division. Any detail, no matter how small, could be crucial to the investigation.

Further updates will be released as new information becomes available. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this time.
