WESTWEGO, LA — The Westwego community is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Mark A. Barrios, 69, who passed away following a boating incident near Bayou Segnette State Park. Authorities confirmed that Mark’s body was recovered from the Marcello Canal, a location known for recreational boating and fishing. Investigators are continuing to work to determine the official cause of death.

The tragic discovery was made after authorities were notified of a possible boating accident in the area. Search and recovery teams located Mark’s body and confirmed his identity shortly after.
