San Antonio Mourns Loss of Justin Edward Rendon Following Fatal Rollover Crash
Community in Shock After Tragic Accident Along Southeast Loop 410

SAN ANTONIO, TX — June 21, 2025 , A devastating rollover crash that occurred Thursday afternoon has now claimed the life of 37-year-old Justin Edward Rendon, a San Antonio resident whose untimely passing has left his family, friends, and community in mourning. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified Rendon on Saturday, confirming that he died as a result of injuries sustained when he was ejected from his vehicle during the violent accident.

The crash happened around 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 19, along the Southeast Loop 410 Access Road near Houston Street. According to San Antonio police and emergency responders, the vehicle — described as a light-colored sedan — appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed before losing control, flipping multiple times, and ultimately coming to rest on the roadside in a crumpled mass of metal and debris.

Upon arrival, first responders found Rendon unconscious and unresponsive, having been ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials later confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt, a detail that has sparked renewed conversations around vehicle safety in the community.

The San Antonio Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Division responded to the scene and launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Preliminary findings suggest that speed, road conditions, or driver distraction may have been contributing factors, but the final report is still pending. Investigators have not indicated whether other vehicles were involved, and no further injuries were reported.

The sudden death of Justin Edward Rendon has sent ripples of grief throughout the community. Friends and loved ones have taken to social media to express their sorrow and share memories of a man described as hardworking, funny, and deeply devoted to his family.

“He was always smiling,” one longtime friend wrote on Facebook. “It’s hard to believe he’s gone. He had so much life ahead of him, and this just doesn’t feel real.”

Others have remembered Justin as a dedicated father, a loyal friend, and someone who could light up a room with his humor and kindness. “You could always count on him. Whether it was a late-night call or helping with a move, Justin was there,” said a co-worker from a local construction company.

A GoFundMe page has since been launched by family members to assist with funeral expenses and support his children in the aftermath of this tragic loss. Community members have already begun contributing, a testament to the impact Justin made during his life.

In the wake of this tragedy, San Antonio police and safety officials are once again reminding the public about the importance of seatbelt usage and cautious driving.

“Every accident is a tragedy, but what makes many of them even more heartbreaking is that they are preventable,” said one SAPD spokesperson. “We urge all drivers to obey speed limits, wear seatbelts, and avoid distractions behind the wheel.”

Funeral arrangements for Justin Edward Rendon are currently being planned, with details expected to be released in the coming days. The family has requested privacy as they begin to process this overwhelming loss and plan to host a memorial service open to the public for those who wish to pay their respects.

As San Antonio comes to grips with the sudden loss of another member of its community, the hope remains that Justin’s death will serve as a solemn reminder of life’s fragility — and the importance of driving safely and responsibly.

Rest in peace, Justin. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.
