Early on the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, tragedy struck on Interstate 65 near Atmore, Alabama, when 74-year-old Victoria Rodgers from Saraland lost her life in a two-vehicle collision involving a Freightliner tractor-trailer.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred around 5:01 a.m. near mile marker 60, approximately three miles north of Atmore. Rodgers was driving a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan when her vehicle was struck by a 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old Henry L. Howard of Montgomery.

The impact caused Rodgers’ vehicle to leave the roadway, strike a cable barrier, and overturn. Emergency responders pronounced her deceased at the scene. Howard was not injured in the crash.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released as of now.
