Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man for Allegedly Abusing Child Under 10

On May 6, 2025, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Thomas Moser of Olivehurst, California, in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a child under the age of 10. Moser was apprehended at a business in Redding, California, after an investigation led by the Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit identified him as the suspect in the case.

Authorities stated that Moser was taken into custody following the issuance of a felony arrest warrant. Detectives were able to locate him at a business in Redding, where he was taken into custody without incident. During a subsequent interview with investigators, Moser reportedly admitted to engaging in conduct consistent with the allegations, leading to his formal arrest.

The charges against Moser are serious and include multiple counts related to the sexual abuse of a minor, including four counts of oral copulation with a child under the age of 10, two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10, and one count of annoying or molesting a child. Due to the gravity of the charges, Moser’s bail has been set at $1,750,000.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed further details about the victim in order to protect their privacy. However, authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and additional information may be released in the future. The case is being treated with utmost seriousness, and detectives continue to work diligently to gather evidence and ensure justice is served.
