Jessica McLaughlin, a young 7-Eleven employee in Hollywood, California, was declared brain dead after she was allegedly attacked by her assistant manager on June 24.
According to her brother, Jessica had told her family that she was being bullied at work. On the night of the incident, things turned violent. The manager reportedly threw a bottle at Jessica, tackled her to the floor, and cut off her breathing by sitting on her.
Coworkers tried to help, but it was too late. When police arrived, they found Jessica unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital, but doctors later confirmed she had suffered brain damage due to lack of oxygen.
The suspect allegedly tried to delete security footage before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the LAPD is still investigating.
Jessica’s family is preparing to take her off life support and has launched a GoFundMe to cover her funeral expenses. 7-Eleven says the suspect has been fired and they are cooperating with police.
