Shooting in Keithville Under Investigation; One Person Injured

KEITHVILLE, La. (June 27, 2025) – A quiet Friday morning in Keithville was shattered by gunfire as deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting just after 11 a.m. on Stage Coach Road, located just off Mansfield Road near Drag Strip Road.

Authorities confirmed that one person was shot during the incident, prompting a swift and sizable law enforcement response. More than a dozen sheriff’s units descended on the area, working quickly to secure the scene and begin their investigation.

Emergency medical services were dispatched shortly after the first 911 calls were made, and the injured individual was transported to a local hospital. As of this writing, the condition of the victim has not yet been publicly disclosed.

Deputies were seen canvassing the area around Stage Coach Road and interviewing potential witnesses, as they sought to piece together exactly what led up to the shooting. At this time, no arrests have been announced, and authorities have not identified any suspects or persons of interest.

A perimeter was established around the area as investigators from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office began processing evidence. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and it is not yet known whether the victim and the shooter knew each other.

Residents in the surrounding neighborhood expressed concern over the heavy police presence and the unsettling nature of gun violence so close to home.

“This is normally a quiet area,” said one resident, who asked to remain anonymous. “To see all these deputies and hear someone was shot just down the road—it’s scary.”

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have information related to the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted by calling the Sheriff’s Office directly or through anonymous crime tip lines.

As the investigation unfolds, officials say updates will be released as more details become available. Authorities are also working to determine if the shooting was an isolated incident or part of a larger conflict.

For now, the community waits for answers—and hopes for justice.

If you have any information regarding the shooting, please contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318) 675-2170 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
