Steuben County Sheriff Arrests Prattsburgh Man in Child Exploitation Case After Seizing Devices

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Prattsburgh resident following an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse. On July 18, 2025, deputies and investigators arrested Kyle Marshall, age 23, of County Route 77, Prattsburgh, after a comprehensive child exploitation investigation prompted by a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The investigation began on July 3, 2025, when New York State Police executed a search warrant at a residence on County Route 77 in the town of Pulteney. Numerous electronic devices were seized for forensic examination by the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit. Following the issuance of a Superior Court Warrant by Honorable Chauncey J. Watches, Marshall was charged with 43 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class D felony, and 43 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E felony.

Marshall was processed at the State Police Barracks in Bath and transported to Steuben County Jail, where he remains in custody as the investigation continues. The Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the New York State Police and child advocacy services, is ensuring that victims receive appropriate care and support.

Sheriff Jim Allard stated, “The protection of our community’s children is a top priority. Our team, alongside our partners, worked tirelessly to address these serious allegations. We encourage anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in our efforts to ensure justice.”
