Posted on May 3, 2025 by Usainsightreport

On Friday evening, a shooting occurred in downtown Oakland, resulting in injuries to three individuals, one of whom is in critical condition. The incident took place just after 7:15 p.m. on the 300 block of 13th Street, an area known for its restaurants and nightlife. Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. All were transported to local hospitals for treatment. As of Saturday morning, one victim remained in critical condition, while the other two were reported to be in stable condition.

The Oakland Police Department has not released any information regarding potential suspects, and the investigation is ongoing. This shooting adds to a series of violent incidents that have raised concerns about public safety in Oakland’s downtown area. Local business owners have expressed frustration over the increasing crime rates, citing frequent break-ins and vandalism that have impacted their operations.

In response to the growing concerns, some businesses have temporarily closed their doors in protest, calling for more effective measures to address crime and ensure the safety of residents and patrons.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the Tip Line at (510) 238-7950.
