TRAFFIC HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN PORT ORANGE AFTER MOTORCYCLE-SUV COLLISION

PORT ORANGE, FL – A serious motor vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon has prompted a full-scale Traffic Homicide Investigation by the Port Orange Police Department. The incident took place on June 17, 2025, at approximately 3:04 p.m., at the intersection of northbound Nova Road and Herbert Street, involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a motorcyclist suffering from critical injuries. Emergency personnel quickly administered aid before transporting the individual to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where they remain in critical condition. The driver of the SUV reported no injuries at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.

Due to the severity of the injuries sustained and the nature of the collision, the Port Orange Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. According to police, the identities of those involved are currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin and the outcome of further investigation.
