On the evening of May 15, 2025, a devastating fire broke out at the Bicester Motion business centre, a former RAF base in Oxfordshire. The blaze claimed the lives of two firefighters—Jennie Logan, 30, and Martyn Sadler, 38—and a local resident, David Chester, 57. Two other firefighters sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving hospital treatment.
Martyn Sadler served with both the Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service and the London Fire Brigade. He was responding to the fire when he tragically lost his life.
