Tragedy in Milwaukee: Father Fatally Shot 10 Times by Teenage Son, Family Pleads for Surrender

Posted on July 4, 2025 by Usainsightreport

MILWAUKEE, WI – A shocking act of domestic violence has devastated a Milwaukee family and rocked the local community, after 47-year-old Corey was shot and killed on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, near 11th and Atkinson. The alleged shooter? His own teenage son, who remains on the run as police intensify their search.

According to authorities and grieving family members, the incident unfolded inside the family’s apartment, turning a place of refuge into a crime scene. The suspect’s younger siblings were reportedly present at the time and witnessed the horrific event.

“I got a call that my brother got shot and killed by his son,” said Karen Stegall, Corey’s heartbroken sister. “He didn’t shoot him once — he shot him 10 times…”

The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, though neighbors report that there had been visible tension and verbal altercations between Corey and his son in the days leading up to the tragedy. At this time, no formal charges have been filed, as police continue their efforts to locate the teen suspect.

“The kids had to watch their brother kill their dad,” Karen added. “Lil Corey, turn yourself in. Maybe you can get mental help, but your sisters and brothers will need it too.”

The name of the son has not been released publicly due to his age and the active nature of the investigation. However, family and police are urging him to surrender peacefully.

Milwaukee Police Department has not issued a public alert yet, but sources say the teenager fled the scene on foot shortly after the shooting. Detectives are combing the area, checking surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses in hopes of piecing together a timeline.

Community Response and Call for Support

The senseless killing has sparked an outpouring of support from the local community and a broader conversation around mental health, family conflict, and violence among youth.

Child welfare services have reportedly been contacted to provide trauma counseling and support for the siblings who witnessed the shooting.

As the investigation unfolds, the family is planning a vigil in memory of Corey, described by relatives as a man who, despite personal struggles, “loved his children and didn’t deserve to die like this.”

“We’re hurting,” said another family member. “But more than that, we’re broken. A family has been torn apart.”

How You Can Help:

  • Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the teenage suspect is urged to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS. Tips can be submitted anonymously.

As the city reels from another act of family violence, this tragedy serves as a sobering reminder of the urgent need for accessible mental health resources, conflict resolution support, and safe spaces for youth in distress.

Rest in peace, Corey. May your story be a call to healing, awareness, and change.
