MARION TOWNSHIP, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol has released details regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Thursday, July 24, 2025, involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 14 in Olmsted County.

The motorcyclist, identified as Robert Warren Jackley, 52, of St. Charles, was traveling westbound on a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the incident occurred. At approximately 10:48 a.m., Jackley’s motorcycle collided with a 2021 Chevy Silverado driven by Daniel Lee Dittes, 52, of Maple Grove, at the intersection of Highway 14 and Chester Avenue SE, just east of Rochester.

According to authorities, Jackley was pronounced deceased at the scene. Dittes, the driver of the pickup truck, sustained no injuries in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine its cause. Assisting at the scene were the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department, Eyota Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The incident led to a temporary closure of U.S. Highway 14 between Chester and Eyota, but the roadway has since been reopened, as reported by 511MN.
