Tragic End for Missing Newman Mother: Kelsy Ramos, 44, Found Dead in Selma After Days-Long Search

Posted on May 6, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Kelsy Ramos, a 44-year-old mother and healthcare worker from Newman, California, was found deceased in Selma on Monday, May 5, 2025, after being reported missing late last week. Her death has left her family, friends, and community in mourning.

Timeline of Disappearance

Ramos was last seen by family members around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, in Newman. She was driving her white 2017 Nissan Versa and was later spotted in Turlock near Fulkerth Road and Countryside Drive at approximately 10:55 a.m. The last known communication from her was a phone call with a friend at 11:45 a.m. that day. Her phone became inactive afterward, which concerned her family, as it was uncharacteristic for her to be out of contact, especially given her healthcare profession that required constant communication.

Later that afternoon, her vehicle was seen on West Shaw Avenue in Fresno at 3:23 p.m. Despite efforts by her family and law enforcement, including distributing missing person flyers and creating a dedicated social media page, there were no further sightings or communications from Ramos over the weekend.

Discovery in Selma

On Monday, May 5, the Selma Police Department responded to a call regarding a deceased person in a room that had been rented in Selma. The description matched that of Ramos, and Turlock detectives traveled to Selma to confirm her identity. Authorities reported no signs of foul play at the scene, but the official cause of death remains under investigation pending coroner and toxicology reports.

Community Response and Remembrance

Ramos was a well-known and cherished member of her community. Described by her sister as someone who “always stands out in a crowd,” she was known for her vibrant personality and dedication to her family and profession. A graduate of Orestimba High School, she earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification from Gurnick Academy and had strong ties to the Fresno area, including attending Fresno State University.

The Turlock Police Department expressed their condolences, stating, “To Kelsy’s family, friends, and loved ones—our hearts are with you. We ask our community to join us in lifting them up during this incredibly difficult time.

As the investigation continues, the community remembers Kelsy Ramos for her warmth, dedication, and the positive impact she had on those around her.
