The York County Sheriff’s Office reported that the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in the parking lot of the Motel 6 located at 3541 Foothills Way in Fort Mill. Deputies responded to the scene and found one individual who had been shot. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
