Tragic Loss: Woman Fatally Stabbed by Partner in Oklahoma City Home”

Posted on July 28, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Oklahoma City, OK – A 36-year-old woman, Thanh Thi Yen To, was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning in a northwest Oklahoma City home, leaving the community in shock and prompting questions about the role of psychedelic substances in the incident.

At approximately 1:10 a.m., Oklahoma City Police Department officers responded to a distressing 911 call from a residence near North Roff Avenue and Northwest 50th Street. The caller, 36-year-old Kyle Guthrie, confessed to stabbing his girlfriend. Upon arrival, officers discovered To with multiple stab wounds inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guthrie was arrested without incident and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint. According to a probable cause affidavit, Guthrie admitted to police that he and To had consumed psychedelic mushrooms prior to the attack. He reportedly stated that he “stabbed her all over her body,” though no clear motive has been established. Investigators are examining whether the use of hallucinogenic substances may have influenced Guthrie’s mental state at the time of the killing.

Details about the couple’s relationship or any prior history of domestic violence have not been released by authorities. It is also unclear whether anyone else was present in the home during the incident. The investigation remains in its early stages, with police collecting evidence, interviewing potential witnesses, and awaiting toxicology reports to gain a fuller understanding of the circumstances.

The tragic death of Thanh Thi Yen To adds to Oklahoma City’s homicide count, which has seen a slight increase in 2025 compared to the previous year. Neighbors in the typically quiet area expressed disbelief, noting that such violence was unprecedented on their street. No information has been provided regarding To’s surviving family members or funeral arrangements.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact their Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200. As the investigation continues, community advocates are emphasizing the need for increased awareness of substance abuse risks and the importance of recognizing early signs of domestic violence to prevent future tragedies.
