Tragic Memorial Day Crash in Huston Township, Pennsylvania: Remembering the Lives of Cayden Wiseman, Seth Neubert, and Dominic Moore

On the evening of May 26, 2025, a devastating head-on collision occurred in Huston Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives. The incident unfolded at approximately 9:21 p.m. on the 7000 block of Bennetts Valley Highway (Route 255), a winding stretch of road known for its limited visibility, especially after dark.

Victims of the Crash

The victims have been identified as:

  • Cayden Wiseman, 20, of DuBois – the driver of the first vehicle.
  • Dominic Moore, 20, also of DuBois – a passenger in the same vehicle.
  • Seth Neubert, 37, of St. Marys – the driver of the second vehicle.

All three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer Snyder. The impact of the crash left both vehicles destroyed, with emergency responders working diligently through the wreckage.

Emergency Response and Road Closure

Emergency crews from the North Point and Penfield Volunteer Fire Departments responded promptly to the scene. Due to the severity of the crash, Bennetts Valley Highway was closed for several hours from the Mountain Run Road intersection to Route 255 on the Sabula side, halting traffic while officials investigated and cleared the area.

Community Reactions and Tributes

The loss has deeply affected the local communities of DuBois and St. Marys. Tributes have poured in from friends, family, and acquaintances, highlighting the kind-hearted nature and promising futures of the victims. One friend remarked, “They were just kids. They had their whole lives ahead of them. It’s heartbreaking beyond words.”

Investigation and Safety Concerns

Authorities have initiated a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of now, no additional details—such as speed, road conditions, or whether drugs or alcohol were involved—have been released. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can arise on rural highways, particularly after dark. Local officials urge all motorists to remain vigilant, obey speed limits, and avoid distractions while driving, especially on long, winding roads like Route 255.

Support and Grief Counseling

In the wake of this tragedy, local schools, churches, and community organizations have begun mobilizing to offer support and grief counseling for those affected. DuBois Area High School has announced it will make counselors available for students and staff, especially those who knew Cayden and Dominic. Memorial services for the victims are expected to be announced in the coming days as families make arrangements to honor their loved ones.

This is a developing story, and authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. In the meantime, the Penfield and DuBois communities are left to grieve the lives lost—three young men taken far too soon, whose memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved them.
