Posted on July 7, 2025 by Usainsightreport

The Monroe Police Department has released the names of the two victims tragically killed in a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, July 6, near the intersection of E. Franklin Street and Morgan Mill Road. The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Wilson Antonio Broadway Jr. and his 4-year-old son, Ja’Miaz Robinson Broadway.

Both lost their lives at the scene. This heartbreaking loss has deeply shaken the Monroe community, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Broadway family as they navigate this unimaginable grief.

According to the Monroe Police Department’s Traffic Division, initial findings from the ongoing investigation suggest that excessive speed was a contributing factor in the collision. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Wilson Broadway Jr. was known as a devoted father and a kind-hearted man who poured his love and energy into raising his son. Friends and family describe Wilson as a dedicated parent who always prioritized Ja’Miaz’s happiness and well-being. The loss of both father and son is a devastating blow to all who knew and loved them.

Ja’Miaz Robinson Broadway, just four years old, was full of energy, innocence, and joy. His young life, filled with promise and light, was tragically cut short far too soon. He will be remembered for his bright smile and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

The Monroe Police Department has extended its deepest condolences to those mourning Wilson and Ja’Miaz. In light of this tragedy, the department is also urging all drivers to obey posted speed limits and exercise caution on the roads. “Speed limits exist for a reason—to protect lives,” officials stated. “We ask all motorists to make safe driving a priority to prevent further senseless loss.”

As the investigation continues, the Monroe community comes together to honor the memory of Wilson and Ja’Miaz Broadway. May their lives be remembered, their spirits cherished, and their legacy carried forward with love.
