Violent Night in Milwaukee: Four Shootings Leave Two Dead, Including 31-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot Near 73rd and Mill

On the night of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Milwaukee experienced a surge in gun violence, with four separate shootings occurring within a four-hour span. The final and most tragic incident took place around 11:30 p.m. near North 73rd Street and West Mill Road, where a 31-year-old woman was found fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene. The Milwaukee Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this shooting and has not yet identified any suspects .

This incident was part of a particularly violent evening in Milwaukee. Earlier that night, three other shootings occurred

  • Around 7:30 p.m., a shooting near North 24th Street and West Galena Street left a 20-year-old and a 28-year-old hospitalized with non-fatal injuries.
  • At approximately 9:15 p.m., a 61-year-old man was shot near North 49th Street and West Hampton Avenue and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Around 9:45 p.m., a shooting near North 76th Street and West Hampton Avenue resulted in the death of an unidentified victim, who later died at the hospital.
