Woman Arrested for Production and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Maurepas, Louisiana – The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU), working in close coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has arrested a Livingston Parish woman in connection with the production and possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The arrest follows a detailed investigation initiated from a cyber tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
On May 20, 2025, LSP SVU launched an investigation after receiving information indicating the potential exploitation of a juvenile. Investigators began working swiftly and collaboratively to identify the source of the disturbing material. Their efforts led them to 39-year-old Christy Babin, a resident of Maurepas, Louisiana.
Following the acquisition of a search warrant, law enforcement personnel executed a thorough search of Babin’s residence on May 29, 2025. During the execution of the warrant, digital evidence was recovered, confirming the possession of pornographic material involving juveniles under the age of 13. Babin was taken into custody and initially charged with one count of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles under the age of 13.
Subsequent analysis of the evidence, along with further investigative developments, revealed that Babin was not only in possession of the illicit material but was also the individual responsible for producing it. As a result, she was additionally charged with Production of Pornography Involving Juveniles. Babin was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail, and the investigation into this case remains ongoing.
