Posted on July 30, 2025 by Usainsightreport

A 25-year-old woman from Opa-locka, Florida, identified as Beverly Slaughter, was arrested on July 29, 2025, following a severe vehicle collision in Fort Lauderdale that injured multiple individuals and caused significant property damage.

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the incident occurred when Slaughter was involved in a crash that left several victims with injuries, ranging from minor to serious. Authorities allege that Slaughter fled the scene before police arrived, exacerbating the severity of her charges. Investigators determined that she was driving with a suspended or revoked license, potentially linked to a prior DUI-related offense.

Slaughter faces a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges, including:
– Failure to stop and remain at the scene of a crash involving injury
– Leaving the scene of a crash involving non-serious injury
– Driving while license suspended or revoked (injury-related)
– Driving with a suspended/revoked license (DUI-related)
– Reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and property damage

Due to the gravity of the incident and her alleged actions, Slaughter is being held without bond on several charges, while others carry bond amounts ranging from $500 to $2,500. She was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and is described in the arrest report as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to assess the full extent of the injuries and damages caused by the crash.
