Woman Fatally Shot in Hinesville, Georgia, in Apparent Homicide

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Hinesville Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Strickland Road and E.G. Miles Parkway in Hinesville, Georgia. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, Hinesville Police Chief Tracey Howard confirmed on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, that the woman succumbed to her injuries during surgery. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide and have identified a person of interest who is currently being questioned.

The investigation remains active, with police continuing to gather evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The identity of the victim has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
